I take great pleasure in discovering local "Gems" and sharing them with anyone who will listen. Four Moons Spa is a magical spot in Encinitas that feels like a secret getaway. Part of the magic of discovering something beautiful is the element of surprise when you come across something unusual that you did not expect. Four Moons Spa feels like a fairytale, all of you should visit at least once to confirm that all of the complimentary things I have to say are indeed true.
Four Moons Spa hosted an open house event this summer, and one of the Nurture Blog Photographers, Shannon Henry of Studio Carre Photography mentioned she had taken some pre-event photos. Shannon suggested I attend the event that evening as I may be interested in the location for a future Nurture Blog Photoshoot.
I was tired, I had a bit of a headache, and I had my youngest daughter with me, so I was very tempted to ignore the invitation, but something urged me to attend. I am glad I went. Walking onto the property, I felt an instant calm. Within five minutes of being on the property, my headache had gone away.
Visually, the vibe is part Boho chic, part Bali. Tricia, the owner of Ten-Fold Style, showcased her event coordinating skills. The entire property was dripping with florals and candles that night. I soaked in the sights and enjoyed some tasty bites and delicious drinks served by CSE Services.
Next, we met Carrie and Tessa who were giving complimentary reflexology treatments, and we were instantly addicted. As it turns out, I have a four-year-old who is a big fan of reflexology. She fell in love with Tessa and the "foot rub." I had to be very creative about bribing her to leave once it was over as Eden repeatedly exclaimed, "but it is not over, she is not done, I want to stay." The whole scene was adorable.
I booked a Four Moons massage with Carrie for the following week and could not have been more pleased with the service I received. Carrie attended the Baltimore School of Massage in 2008, as well as the Holistic Institute of Natural Medicine in D.C. to incorporate Aromatherapy, Reiki, Reflexology, & Chinese Medicine into her work. Carrie's technique is unique because she treats the body as a whole during your session and does not limit herself to one area at a time before she moves onto the next section.
During your treatment, you will notice that Carrie's hands move from your neck down to your feet with ease. She is very in tune with the human body, and she can feel precisely where her attention is needed. As her hands glide across your body in a beautiful dance-like motion, all of your stress and worry melt away. Carrie will ask you pointed questions to ensure she is addressing all of your concerns. You will get the sense that she genuinely cares for you as a person and that she has a pure desire to make sure you feel significantly better when you get off her table than you did when you laid down. Then, when you think it can't get any better, she performs reflexology on your feet. Talk about secret weapons, Carrie is very skilled in the art of reflexology. Expect to melt into the table and don't plan to be very productive following your treatment. Plan to float through the rest of your day, relaxed and happy with a silly grin on your face.
In the past few weeks, I keep getting drawn back. I've visited the Four Moons Spa several times. This past weekend I returned with a group of friends to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of one special lady. The spa staff was able to schedule four sets of services for all of the guests in our party so that each woman received the treatments she desired while allowing us all to start and end around the same time.
I tired an energy session with Sarah Martin who practices as a Medical Medium. As the website bio states: "She specializes in healing the cause of disease, disorders, emotional blocks and unwanted life patterns and teaches you how to connect and receive answers from your soul's guidance system." If you decide to try a session with Sarah, I would suggest you take in the sights, smells, and sounds of your treatment room. Get comfortable, take a few deep cleansing breaths and follow Sarah's guidance. She will use her voice, her hands, chimes, and crystals as she moves through your chakras. You will leave with some distinct, very personal messages and will feel grounded in your skin as you walk into the rest of your day.
I left with the confirmation that my desire to teach, mentor and heal women is a pure and valid intention. At the same time, my soul challenges me to be present, be patient and filled with gratitude.
