Monarch Beach Resort is an alluring coastal playground, perched on a hill, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, located in Dana Point, CA. If you pull up the user-friendly website, your eyes encounter a slide show of images that give you a sneak-peak of what a vacation experience at the resort could look like.
From the patio views to the extensive list of family friendly activities, this resort has so much to offer their guests. As the slide show scrolls through the images, you are inspired to try everything pictured including the table side smores, the paddle boarding, yoga on the beach, Sunday brunch at the AVEO restaurant and jumping through the waves.
When my friend Andrea who is a Marketing Consultant for the resort offered a family dinner at the AVEO restaurant in exchange for our participation in a family themed photo shoot, I jumped at the opportunity. Newport Beach is located just an hour North of San Diego County, and while you think one Pacific Ocean Beach is the same as any other, the two beach locations offer completely different experiences.
When we arrived at the Resort, the front desk staff were friendly and professional. We were led through the lobby and seated in the resorts convivial living room called 33 degrees North. This indoor lounge is adjacent to the outdoor ocean view patio which is my favorite spot in the resort. The bar staff offered us light snacks and beverages of our choice while we waited for our turn in front of the camera. We enjoyed our time in the lounge, and of course, we could not keep the kids off the patio. The view from the patio is so impressive as you look over the beautifully crafted wrought iron railing, you see an impressive 180-degree view. First, you see a large water feature below, behind which the sparkling blue pool and cabana buildings, behind which the golf course, and in the distance the vast ocean and horizon that seems to go on forever.
When the photographer, James Baigrie was ready for us, the hotel staff transported us to the resort beach area by golf cart. Once we reached the beach, we laughed and played and giggled enjoying the afternoon. We were even lucky enough to spot a pod of whales playing in the ocean along the horizon.
Once we had completed the photo shoot, we sat down for dinner at AVEO. Located on the beach this open seaside, Mediterranean themed restaurant offers an al fresco dining experience. We had a delicious meal while enjoying the sunset ocean views. We were sad to leave. We had a wonderfully enchanting afternoon and evening experience at the Monarch Beach Resort. We look forward to our next visit. I suggest you view the resort website because what you see is what you get, stop in for a visit soon.
